Masaru Tatsuki [Suki-no a-i-u-e-o] Photography Exhibition (Words by Shuntaro Tanikawa)

Masaru Tatsuski’s photography exhibition. The photography is taken for an exhibition currently on view at PLAY MUSEUM, Tachikawa, [Shuntaro Tanikawa Picture Book★Department Store] (April 12- July 9, 2023). Poet Shuntaro Tanikawa has created a new poem [Suki-no a-i-u-e-o] which says what he likes along Japanese syllbally aiueo. Taken that as an inspiration, Masaru Tatsuki has traveled to various place in Japan to fulfill his own image inspired by those words. For Tatsuki, with so-sora(sky), he captures the sky above Hiroshima, in mu-mukashi (long ago) , a portrait of Mr. Tanigawa holding a photo of his childhood, in ho-hone (bone) , a skull of a deer sitting on a tree root , that reminds us of his own series of TOHOKU and kuragari. The photo book is planned to be published in the near future by PLAY MUSEUM.
